I've been working on the Wasabi project and wanted to show part of the process in making the Wasabi packaging.
First you get laminating sheets, white silicone caulk, and choice of food coloring. Mix the desired amount of silicone with the food coloring until color is met. Spoon out the silicone onto the laminating sheet that has been cut down to the needed size. Lay the top over the silicone making a bubble. Don't press or let it get flat, this will cause the silicone substance to ooze out. Work the bubbles to the middle and the iron together with a medium-high setting. Any existing bubbles should be moved with iron to the center or outer edge. Cut to size and watch for any ripples. The ripples can cause oozing.

My PS3 Medal of Honor Launch Kit
The Medal Of Honor Launch Kit is now complete. I have included 10 pictures to view the game kit. The pictures will show the inside swag pieces along with game parts.
Welcome the 2012 PS3 Medal Of Honor Warfighter Exclusive Military Edition Game's Launch Kit.
The box is cardboard and was painted with different colored paints starting with a primer base. I used other cutouts to get the pattern I was looking for. Then finished it off by making labels/stickers. One for each side and then a bigger sticker on the top front. To add a professional look I had a plate that I personalized for this particular kit.
The wooden case with glass cover fits inside the cardboard cover with lots of padding. The wood is a dark walnut stain and is lined inside with a soft black felt backer. The top opens with hinged pieces on the bottom and has a magnetic part at the top to keep the lid snug.
This is the front case cover of PS3 Medal Of Honor Warfighter Exclusive Military Edition.
Spine of the PS3 case Medal Of Honor Warfighter Exclusive Military Edition.
This is the back case cover of PS3 Medal Of Honor Warfighter Exclusive Military Edition.
This is the CD of PS3 Medal Of Honor Warfighter Exclusive Military Edition.
Part of the swag inside the launch kit is a Camouflage Kit.
A fire starter kit that is a part of the swag inside the launch game box.
Three General coins that have been included as part of the swag.
Last look of all the free swag that comes inside the PS3 Medal Of Honor Warfighter Exclusive Military Edition.

College Central Network
A few weeks back I was on my way to the mountains for a vacation that I dearly needed. While my girl was driving I tried to work on an assignment for the College Central Network Flyer. As you may see I was inspired by all the informational and directional signs every mile or so. After brainstorming the idea and a few others I decided to go with it.
The theme is spring so I went with a light poppy color and kept the green sign with a white edge as seen from the interstate highways.
After, showing the flyer off and receiving some feedback. I went in a put a white background border on the twitter and facebook icons. Also, within the buttons I changed them from black to white to give them an effect of standing out.

LuLu Book Cover is complete
Lulu.com
My book of nothing.
Through lulu.com I submitted my files for my book cover. This was my first time and I wasn't sure I knew what I was suppose to do. The website was fairly easy and I was able to work my way through it without many issues. However, I did find some problems I wasn't sure how to fix.
Due to the time I had attempted this cover twice but I couldn't make everything fit the way I wanted it too. Finally, with my third attempt and overcoming a few hurdles it begin to work out. I was able to correct some of the size and layout issues in order for the files to fit properly and things like the barcode wouldn't be affected by other graphics.
Overall, it wasn't bad to work with this company and I would be willing to try it again.
Here is the book cover final print from lulu.com

With Honor...my launch kit prep work
Launch Kit Prep
Sept. 24, 2012
My launch kit is based on the game Medal of Honor that playstation has out. In searching multiple ways to go about this I have an idea of what may work best for my launch kit. One of the boxes I would like to have is easier to build than the other. I have also found an option to buy one or pay to have someone build me a custom made box. But both have some very possible issues. It is pricy and I'm on a time restraint.
My basic box design is a flag case with either glass or plexi glass on the front and solid wood around the trim. This case is intended to accommodate 5' x 9 1/2' Interment/Burial flags given to the families of the fallen.
Specs: Case: 22 1/8" x 11" x 2 5/8" It will have a lid to open the front of the box and access any given swag that comes with the game.
Items included in the case will be the game cd/case and the swag.
Speaking of Swag: these are possible choices
t-shirt
necklace
dogtags
General coin(s)
Badges/patches
Camo
Rank
Flag
wrist band
skull cap
Camo Koozie
tactical light
figurine soldier
fake camel spider
compas
Most of the items I either can make, own, or can get my hands on them fairly easy.
One thing I haven't decided on is how to stage the items inside and what to line my box with. Really I need the box first before I can try to place them properly.
Here are a few of my box idea's by pictures I found.
This is what I would really like to have but is very costly.
This box is more likely what I will try and use for the Launch Kit.

Nothing like drawing and playing games
College Central Network
9-17-12
This weekend up to now I have been working on different upcoming projects to include some sketches I have come up with to promote College Central Network.
First, I searched CCN's website. Then I Google different search engines as if I was currently looking for job opportunities. Mostly, I found information that wouldn't catch my attention. However, I did get some ideas that moved my brain.
One of my thoughts led to a matchbox drawing. When you open the box all the matches look the same. In the job field I thought that must be what we look like to an employer unless you are able to stand out from the rest. My drawing includes the one match (match fit) that is green. I felt people may see this as an example of how they need to look when job searching. To Stand Out.
The other drawing is an hour glass that is draining the sands from one section to another. Most of us looking for an opportunity need it to come in a timely manner. Most friends I know all usually wanting a job and needed it yesterday. This is an eye catching moment to remind us now is the time to start searching for that job I want.
The last drawing here is about a calendar and how empty but full they can be. The most important things of our lives go on a calendar of some sort to remind us not to forget what needs to happen on a certain date. I listed a few things maybe in the order we would need to have them as a starter for someone else to see and go...oh yeah I need this and this. CCN website promotes how they can help with resume's, portfolio's, and career options.
This week I am trying to finish everything else so I can get some game playing time in. One of the games I would like to play is Tiger Woods Golf. I also have Medal of Honor Frontline, Enter the Matrix, and Hitman Blood & Money. I can't wait!

Survival vision ....my book cover
Book Cover
9-10-12
I have been working on my book cover since Friday. Since I didn't have any of my own tidal wave pictures I had to use a little creativity in order to get exactly what I needed to pull this off. The wave is enormous and has great color. In order to use this shot I had to get rid of what was in the original shot. Then I had to play with my photoshop skills and see if I could put my mind into an actual picture. I'm no expert at photoshop. Mostly, this work has been trial and error and more error than I intended to have. I often wondered during the long days of my weekend why I picked a subject so technically difficult. However, I had this vision and I was sold that this was going to work out.
The other half of my book is creepy and was really fun to make. It went much better than I expected and that may be that I started to play and learn all in the same task. My whirlpool portal of coming out on the other end of a tidal wave is how I hope to finish this book cover by Thursday class. So back to the book cover I go.

Lights Out
My dark drawings
Report: Monday 9-3-12

"Book"
This assignment started off with a terrible beginning. My titles are all over the place and nothing strikes me to be the perfect fit. The slow start has me spinning and I feel I've got to make a decision soon.
I thought maybe if I started drawing then I would be able to find a perfect title pick. By Sunday it was going ok nothing really special. Then last night I had this deep thought about a terrible movie I had watched when I was a kid and how it has scarred me for life. This must have struck something because I finally had images floating around in my head again. Leading from one thought to another my drawings kind of came together.
Then on Monday the heat was turned on again and I felt like I was back in business. About 40 to 50 minutes later lighting must have hit something near the neighborhood and I found myself sitting in a very dark house looking for any kind of light. Drawing in the dark with a candle isn't all that great but a headlamp makes it that much better. After getting a headache I called it a night. By the way if you can't remember what lights you have on when the power goes off....later when its midnight and you are sound asleep.....the power comes on and with it...everything you had on at the time it was cut off....fun!
Title thoughts
When you are thinking how do you hear yourself?
Why we react mad when we are scared?
Can you see tears underwater?
Night walker...are you awake or dreaming?
Do fearful thoughts turn true?
What is at the end of a blackhole?
Truth or Death?

Template that went bad

Guess I got the JOKER card on that one.

"90 Minute Turkey"
Since last class I have taken my 20 sketches from ideas on paper to print. First, things didn't go as I had hoped. I was using a playing card template to try and recreate a real package. After purchasing a pack of cards and doing some measurements I had a completely different setup. So I had to start from scratch all over again and all the items I had started to put in had to be changed up.
From Friday night til 1am I work on Tritone pictures for another class. Then on Saturday I finished this project and took it to the print shop. Sunday, we had a yearly mandatory meeting to be at by 6am. I worked it out to work til 2pm on Sunday and take Monday off since I normally work M- F.
However, on Sunday evening when I got home I worked on my Turkey project. This took such a great amount of time I was almost turkey'd out. Today, I was able to get everything to an almost perfect spot. With some miner changes I had to make because of time. All I have left after this blog is one comp. For some reason I'm struggling with my ideas on how to take this project to the max...it's 16 weeks and must be perfect or the rest of the semester is going to bite.
Tuesday, after work I will go to the print shop with my turkey playing card creation. My plan was to get there before they closed tonight. Couldn't make it there before 9pm.
Wednesday, I will have class with Marsha so I must get everything finished by Tuesday night for both classes otherwise I will be in a bad way and there is no other time I can give myself.
Thursday, I will bring my finished items to class.
Catch ya on the flip side"
